Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale slated for October 16-18, 2025

A new sale has been announced for 2025. The Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale (formerly known as the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale) will take place Thursday October 16 through Saturday October 18 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana. Day 1 will feature the "Gold" Select Yearlings while Day 2 will see the "Silver" Select Yearlings sell. Day 3 will be a mixed sale comprised of yearlings, weanlings, broodmares and broodmare prospects, racehorses and stallion shares.

Improvements planned for the 2025 Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale include:

The auction being held in the spacious Corteva Coliseum, a 6,500-seat arena.

The sale will now be open to all yearlings and not limited to just Indiana sired yearlings.

The catalog will be available for download on the Equineline app.

Buyer Rebates

3% Total commission on all stallion shares. There are zero consignor fees.

Consignors with accounts up to date, will be paid 50% of their proceeds at the conclusion of the sale and the remaining 50% within 3 weeks.

All yearlings to be personally inspected by Dr. Bridgette Jablonsky and/or Jamie Macomber in late spring/early summer.

Entry Deadline Approaching for Yearling Portion of Inaugural Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale.

Entries for the yearling portion of the inaugural Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale are scheduled to close on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The newest addition to the Standardbred sales calendar has already generated significant interest. In addition to selling Indiana’s finest yearlings, the sale will also include yearlings sired in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kentucky, Illinois, and Minnesota.

The Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale will take place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from Thursday, October 16th through Saturday, October 18th, 2025.

Select yearlings will sell on Thursday and Friday (October 16–17), followed by the mixed sale on Saturday, October 18th. Entries for the mixed sale will open in July.

Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale

To All Consignors,

Thank you for your consignment in the inaugural Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale.

We require that all yearlings be staked to a minimum of six races. With the May 15th stake nomination deadline quickly approaching,we ask that you contact the owners of the yearlings in your consignment and notify them of this requirement.

The yearling inspection process will begin May 19th and continue until on or about July 1st. Please expect a call five to seven days out to discuss our arrival.

In order to make the most accurate assessment of each yearling we ask that the yearlings be shown to us in hand, if a yearling is not broke then please have them separated in stalls or pens. Their pedigrees will have already been scored when we arrive, and we will share their current pedigree scores with you at our visit as well as their conformation scores. After inspections are complete, we will assign days and send those day placements to you along with a sale contract to complete, sign and return.

An email /letter with future dates/deadlines will be sent to each consignor early summer.
